Protest by the People

People have protested here and there for thousands of years, but a new universal movement is under way which is likely to change the world forever.

The demands for democracy, freedom and fairness in the middle East and North Africa in recent months have, in a different but related way, spread to the US and Europe as thousands of protesters demonstrate their anger over what they see as an unfair capitalist system for the failings of which they are being forced to pay.

It is only now as protest by the people becomes global that a degree of attention by politicians and the media is being paid to a new phenomenon which is likely to become familiar and transformational, and to which there is no conventional solution.  In summary, there is a demonstrated recognition by the people that poor leadership, poor decision-making, self-interested short-termism, wealth-based values and a gambling mentality (sometimes their own) have created unparalleled profligacy with tax-payers’ money resulting in huge national and personal debts which those same taxpayers are being required to repay, often and increasingly cruelly and painfully. Many do and will find the situation unacceptable.

The time may come, in different countries, when the sense of injustice or the needs of survival will force great numbers of people not just to protest but even to take direct action, like refusing to pay their taxes or comply with the law. Civil disobedience may become widespread and it may, temporarily, result in public disorder; it may lead to a breakdown in capitalism as we have known it and new ways of governance based on different values. The signs are there now but the true reality of where the signs point is largely being ignored. The longer the truth is ignored the more decisive the outcome. That is karma. It is all about karma.

Either way, this protest by the people is on time and, you could say, inevitable: it is part of the Plan for planetary and cosmic transformation, and it is up to the people, once more, as to how, in detail, this part of the Plan plays out.
