Shifting into a New Consciousness
Today some of the tensions in Britain have subsided, but more is to come as the world shifts into a new consciousness.
The combination of disaffected youngsters from a forgotten underclass, Muslim and Sikh anger at the damage, real or potential, to their lives or property, an overstretched and often disliked police force, a weak political system, a lack of funds to assist deprived communities and an inadequate educational system all come together to create a perfect storm. Anything could happen. However, the big test will come when the worldwide need for real debt elimination in practice, rather than the current pretence, will result in a new lifestyle for most people based on human need rather than human want – and many will not like it, and will show it.This situation is not confined to Britain, for the ingredients for major civil unrest are in many countries and it would not surprise me if there were simultaneous explosions of protest in times to come.
In writing these words I speak objectively and without any fear – indeed, I have great optimism for the future of our world, recognising that attitudes and expectations from an era now past are being challenged by the new consciousness of a kinder society and where there is challenge, often there is confrontation. Good always prevails in the end.
After nights of devastation in Britain it was heartening to see communities coming together to clean their streets and repair what they could, to help each other in a time of need, and to hear the families of those who died call for peace. They have shown they care, and that is the heart of the new consciousness.
