The New Era of Self-Mastery

The new moon in Leo on Sunday ushered in a cycle when the astrological focus is upon self-perception, discernment and self-mastery which is perfect for where we are now and for the new era.

Even though our world, personal and global, may seem to be beset by many challenges from economic disarray, over-population and climate change to job security and pension provision, I am noticing more and more a sense of optimism for what lies ahead. Among my clients and friends the imminence of 2012 and its symbolic significance is creating purpose and anticipation far more than apprehension, and they are recognising it as the marker for something we have been awaiting since earth was first seeded by man.

No doubt there are some who have been influenced by the messengers of doom, and occasionally I am asked if it is worth starting this new project, moving house, having a baby, going on holiday even, in case disaster hits our planet. I speak my truth always and remind them that the term 2012 represents an era spanning many years and that planetary change, which is happening right now, will not be brought about in a one-off great event next year but through a number of smaller occurrences, some of which we have seen already. Hiding behind locked doors cannot shield us from the impact of what happens and it is important to live life normally and to the full.

Signs of the new era, the new consciousness you could say, are everywhere, and it gives me great joy to hear of projects about to begin which will impact the world far into the future, to see people committed to their path and their service moving forward with confidence and determination to help to anchor this new era and the planetary transformation which comes with it through their being and their doing, wherever the great adventure which is life on earth takes them. They have achieved self-mastery, and that is what the 2012 era is all about.
