Birds in History

With the discovery of a new fossil in China, arguments are raging as to what creatures, in fact, were the oldest birds in history.

An artist’s impression shows the newly found small entity may have been brightly coloured with a distinct blue crest on its head – which sounds very like our modern day mandarin duck, a family of which visit our ponds regularly to feed and rest as they prepare to breed each year. The dispute centres upon when dinosaurs evolved into birds, and one of the questions is whether the newly discovered fossil is a dinosaur or a bird. No-one knows.

What is ironic about the discussions is that they pre-suppose we know when the history of man and nature on our planet began and how the evolutionary process from that time to the present, in broad terms, happened. The truth is, we don’t.

A great swathe of the story of Man and beast – and birds - on Earth has been forgotten because there is no written record and no proof that a chunk of our history is missing. Elders in certain hidden tribes in remote parts of the world know because the story has been passed down inter-generationally  almost since time began. Shamans and seers of past and future know also.

The lost part of history is perhaps the most interesting, dealing as it does with the seeding of Gaia, the arrival of Priest-Kings, with mythical animals that lived and walked our lands, with mystery and magic. It was a time in our history when birds flew between dimensions effortlessly bringing messages from the gods, and when we ourselves learned how to be soul in body in perfect harmony.

Modern findings about birds in history tell us much of great interest to those people who are interested in the origins of all that is, but they are limited possibly because Man, always needing proof and more proof to satisfy the mind, is not ready to hear what went before. Enlightenment will come, however, and in a way that will be without scientific proof as it is understood now, but it will be incontrovertible nonetheless.
