Happy Birthday, Gaia!
The June Solstice is a magical time, always, and it has been celebrated for its importance since time on Earth began.
Complex mathematical calculations are involved, and the most profound tenets of sacred geometry can be observed in the precision of positions and angles on this day and how they relate the cosmic world to Earth. For most of us, however, we remember the June solstice for being the longest (or shortest) day of the year and the first day of summer (or winter, depending on our hemisphere). Both facts are important too and are part of the mystery of the solstice.
This solstice is a rite of passage for our Planet and by marking it in our own way of so doing, wherever we are and whatever we know about it, we are supporting Her on Her journey at a particularly important point. This day is like a birthday, one that is celebrated twice-yearly, and like all birthdays it is an opportunity to honour the object of focus of the day, which is Gaia. By so doing we are honouring our relationship with Her and Her relationship with the great cosmic world beyond.
So, if you can, think of Her today with love and thanks, for it will do much good.
