The Human Dichotomy

“Humanity seems to be entering some kind of dark, painful phase before things get brighter,” someone wrote on my website recently, inviting my thoughts.

It is an interesting and understandable observation in view of what is happening in the world, but I see our human situation in a rather different way. For me, our seduction by the world of matter began a long time ago as part of a new incoming cycle and as part of the schooling of man. Our progression along our soul journey is dependent upon our human experience, nothing more, nothing less, and learning how to undergo the darker side of life and then rise above it (if we choose) is an essential part of it.

Governed as it is by the Fourth Ray of Harmony through Conflict, the dichotomy between the world of materialism and the world of altruism is necessary. Because we are on the point of leaving an era of want, desire and self-centredness those qualities are at their strongest and most apparent to teach us, unequivocally, that there is a better way and to help us decide collectively and individually if we want the alternative. Our choices are stark, and must be so, but I do not doubt the outcome.
