The New Moon and Nature
The powerful Wesak in May ushered in a succession of turbulent new energies which may have proved disconcerting to many of us, to say the least.
Last night’s New Moon in Gemini, accompanied as it was by a partial eclipse of the sun, has enabled a settling of those energies at last and the new cycle which has begun may bring relief, an opportunity to recuperate and move on with more serenity than has been possible for several weeks. While the pace of change will continue to accelerate time will feel as if it is settling down.Almost by way of validation of the new calm (for now!) a report commissioned by the UK government was published today which considered the impact of nature on the health and well-being of men, women and children everywhere. It concluded that access and proximity to green spaces was crucial and should be taken into account, seriously, in all planning applications for building and development. Encouragingly, the government appears to be prepared to follow the recommendations, which would be wonderful.
As I write the sun smiles down from a clear sky on birds feeding their young, and the only sounds I hear are insects buzzing in the flower-heads and the murmur of the river nearby. Living in the heart of a perfect natural world is a blessing I never forget and for which I give thanks constantly for the pleasure and benefit it brings me. For everyone, some way or other, to have a similar experience even partially available to them wherever they live in the world would make me very happy, and might assist their happiness too.
I write more about the moon and nature in my book, Spiritual Wisdom.

... Dear Claire Related to today's and yesterday's blog about nature, I was only wishing to add of my delight in hearing Germany's decision to ban all nuclear plants by 2022. I felt that, at last, someone heard the message of Nature, given through the Fukushima disaster. It literally felt like an oasis of sanity...I was so grateful to hear this. Much love |
