Lessons from Dolphins
I was saddened to hear today a report on the aftermath of the BP oil spill last year, saying the impact on wildlife is severe still.
It appears dolphins are being washed ashore, dead and covered in oil, and that there are many similar examples involving other species. All creatures are special but dolphins are exceptional, symbolising as they do creation, life and the feminine energy in ways that are magical. They are the conduit to the Source if we could but see.The sight of them, killed by the misuse of earth’s resources, reminds us of our role as guardians of this beautiful planet and epitomises the polarisation between materialism and spirituality. Again, they are teaching us, even in death.

... Dear Claire I too was saddened to read an article in the Guardian about the tons of oil sunk as muck on the sea bed, affecting many forms of life in the deep waters. All this revealed by a brave scientist, who went there with a submarine to defy BP’s claims that the Gulf’s waters are now clear of oil. Regarding dolphins, it is very sad too, but it also reminds me of the 20,000 dolphins slaughtered routinely every year at Taiji, Japan… I continue to admire the work of Ric O Barry (www.savejapandolphins.org) and the impact such devoted activists have. I heard him at an interview: apparently, he was a dolphin trainer himself, at an aquarium. Until one day, one his dolphins run up to him, looked him in the eyes, fell on his arms, and, there, left her last breath. From that day, his world changed. With love Victoria |
