Walking through Treacle
Energetically, these last couple of weeks since the full moon have been like walking through treacle, compounded now by Mercury being retrograde.
It has been a time of illusion, and it is no coincidence that illusion has been the theme of the month for the New Consciousness Course I am teaching, reflected in the lives and observations of my students. Another way of describing illusion is as a superficial, temporary or transitory reality: human perception can be very narrow and very literal, rather like going to watch a film and believing everything you see on screen is real and “now”, and that everyone is looking at it in the same way as you do. So it is with current world events, where our focus, stirred and often initiated by the media, with upheaval, politics, violence and “disasters” can prevent us seeing the deeper soul activity and spiritual meaning beneath the actions, choices and reactions of Man and Gaia.Last night I went to a small photographic exhibition of wildlife, held locally. The beauty and perfection of a beetle in close up, fungus on a stump, a bird’s head in profile against a brilliant sky, were breathtaking. The exhibits were a reminder of the wonders God has given us in our world, another aspect of reality caught on camera in a fleeting moment. Man creates and perpetuates his own illusion; nature, in its simplicity and its truth, just “is”. So could we be, too.
