Japan: healing where it is needed
The focus of the world media on Japan means that much about that noble country, over and above the recent natural and nuclear events, has been revealed.
I have never visited Japan, but have been awed by the beauty of its mountains, seas and waterways, still magnificent despite the scenes of human devastation. The patience and stoicism of the Japanese people in the face of the greatest adversity imaginable has been inspirational, and I wonder how other nations would have reacted in a similar circumstance. Human frailties have been revealed too in the obfuscation and procrastination by certain officials particularly relating to the nuclear vulnerabilities, but then, we are all human and we all make mistakes which in themselves may help others to learn from them.
As a Reiki Master, I have been remembering too how Reiki was re-discovered in Japan by Dr Usui, in the north of that country, and how a massive earthquake in 1923 created a demand for Reiki treatment and training. No coincidence……..and it may be that the repercussions of this latest earthquake will similarly precipitate a shift in attitude to matters of spirit, and bring about healing where and when it is most needed, just as Reiki does.

... And the whole world is deeply touched and inspired by the courage and selflessness of those 180 workers, who are trying to cool the reactors, knowingly risking their lives. This to me feels like a new kind of courage: they are voluntarily putting themselves, under the influence of natural forces, which are still very obscure and unknown to man. Yet love, nobility and altruism seem to overcome it all. Amazing. With love Victoria |
