Breathing with Spirit
Though it has been a part of my life from the moment I was born, my respect for the power of my breath grows rapidly, and I no longer take it for granted.
My understanding of its importance is inhibited, I am sure, by my own human limitations, but I know that focusing on the rhythm of my breathing calms my mind and brings me back into my centre, my beingness. I know that developing and maintaining a measured, regular breathing pattern heightens my consciousness and enables me to operate inter-dimensionally; I know that the slower I breathe, without undue effort, the greater the sense of spiritual connection; and that when I am able to breathe in alignment with the Planet and the Universe - which breathe too - I can reach the place of bliss.I say these things with the voice of experience, but with no pride. You who read my words may have learned far more about your breath than I have done with mine, but if you have not, then perhaps you too will be inspired to observe, focus on and develop this precious gift which sustains our living bodies all the time, as I in my own small way have done.

... Claire, that is such sound advice. Although we all know this, it is easy to forget, particularly in times of stress. I think I shall keep some small talisman on me in the future, and try to remember to hold it when things get rough, knowing that it is there to make me concentrate on my breath. Maybe a small crystal will do the trick, but it will be hard to keep it permanently on my person. Possibly as a piece of unobtrusive jewellery. I shall consider this. Thanks for the heads up. Anne |

... Thank you dear Claire for this timely reminder. When I am aware of my breath, it reminds me that it is one of the few constants in this life. It is thus a place of connection as you have so beautifully said, and an anchoring amongst the constant flux that surrounds us. With deep gratitude and love Marta |

... There is an interesting Guided Meditation CD called Getting into the Vortex which a friend gave me for Christmas. What makes it spacial is that the rhythum of the music and the instruction to breathe are as powerful as the actual worded content of the meditation. It is wonderful to be reminded by you of the importance of our breathe and equally wonderful to find time to stop and allow our breathing to be everything. |
