Seeing through the Snow
I try as much as I can to see what is happening around me with the eyes of the Seven Principles I teach.
Discernment is an important aspect of the New Consciousness (the platform for the Principles) and as I looked out at our intensely snowy landscape this morning I tried to understand how it applies to our current extreme weather - for the Principles apply to everything.
Here we have an icy whiteness that kills bugs and purifies the ground; it causes everyday life to stop which gives opportunity for reflection and the chance to hear the silence and feel the stillness everywhere. It reminds us of our own survival, so often taken for granted, as heating and food are challenged, people die in accidents and as we see the wildlife struggling for food. The snow is beautiful, uncontrollable, overwhelming, also treacherous as it hides invisible hazards below its surface which can trip us up and cause us to fall. It shelters tender plants and its warmth cocoons hibernating animals while its weight damages tree branches and brings down power lines. It is like the soul journey with its ups and downs, highs and lows, lessons and learnings.
As the snow fell again late last night, I went outside and stood in the stream of snowflakes looking up at the moon, preparing already for the solstice on Tuesday, and the stars. It was very light from the reflected snow, and each snowflake looked like another star. It was quite silent and totally magnificent, and felt like a rare gift.
Ultimately, snow and ice are a reminder of the presence of Spirit everywhere: they are made of water, frozen for that moment, and the Spirit of Water is Spirit.

... Dearest Claire Thank you for your note. Synchronicity again! Two days ago, I had an experience with the 2nd principle on which I am currently working (in a different way - no snow here!): I was reading your course notes on the 2nd principles and my eyes started getting itchy. I remembered that I had forgotten to renew my contact lenses, they were overdue. Mechanically, I went to the bathroom, put the new pair of lenses on, but now my sight was much worse and my eyes hurt even more. For a few seconds, I did not understand what was going on, until I realized that I was so absent-minded thinking about the 2nd principle that I had put the new pair of lenses on, without taking the old ones off. The mechanical, as well as spiritual, answer became immediately apparent, like a flash of illumination. I instantly thought of you and the 2nd principle… Yes, the energy is really building up for the solstice, isn’t it? Much love, Victoria |
