A Small Reflection on the Weather
As I write it is starting to snow and is bitterly cold, but the change in the weather is not all bad news.
Hundreds of birds are flying around the house as I write, seeking out the grains and bread I have left for them. Some are on the cedar shingles which cover the timber frame, and I can hear them tapping away as they look for insects hidden in the nooks and crannies, sometimes sitting on my window sill looking at me before dashing off on their quest for food. A heavy frost still covers the roof and ground, killing unwanted bugs while providing water for wildlife and looking magical.
It is very still today, and the sound of silence is deafening. It is perfect.

... I expect that the local birds and other creatures know where to go for sustenance! This must be good karma for you too. I just wish I lived in a place that would allow me to do this. Kev |
