Miracles

Ever since the death of Pope John Paul II, efforts have been made to grant him sainthood.  The obstacle to achieving this, it seems, is that in order for this to be achieved there must be two proven miracles attributable to him, and so far they have not been able to be established.

Miracles are a little like healing: healing will occur only when the "patient" is open and willing.  If there is resistence or doubt, it will be much more difficult, probably impossible.  So it is with miracles.  Miracles take place all the time, and they can be subtle or quite marvellous, but unless the object of healing or the witness believes they can happen, they will not be recognised for what they are.

It would be simple for Spirit to give unequivocal proof of miracles in order to convince sceptics, but that would be making it too easy.  Part of our test is to learn to accept and believe that anything can happen including the extra-ordinary.  It is all about trust.  Without trust there can be no miracles.
